In their third incarnation, the Berlin super troupe Berlin Diskret around Don Lotze, Asphalt Tiger and The Artist Formerly Known As Metal Warrior opens a new chapter with the new front woman Elli. Asphalt Tiger has contributed half of the sovereignly brash lyrics and as a Neukoelln scene great, Elli also has an adorably gruff mouth that delivers one lyrical highlight after another on the 14 excellent songs of "Erinnere Dich", in which almost everyone and everything gets their money's worth. Razor-sharp guitar licks meet wonderfully booming bass runs, crunchy shooting gallery action, horny backing vocals and always deliciously arranged surprises in the form of synth, harmonica, jingle bells and charmingly misappropriated, not entirely unknown New Wave riffs. Combinations like Ostro 430, hans-a-plast, Baerchen & Die Milchnunies, early Abwarts, very early Cure let Berlin Diskret lovingly peek around every corner and meanwhile shake their enchanting third and at the same time best album out of their sleeves with "Erinnere Dich".
