Piccioni, Piero
Maestro Series, Vol. 1
First issue in the Maestro Series from Black Cat Records, this retrospective dedicated to one of the main names among the great Italian movie soundtrack composers, Piero Piccioni, covers his stunning career form his exotica recordings of the early sixties to the big-band beat of Camille 2000 (with an unreleased track from the movie soundtrack). The compilation includes an unreleased vocal track that Shawn Robinson (who, along with Lydia Mac Donald, was the composers vocalist of choice) performed for a Bossa Nova Suite and many others unissued-before tracks from the Maestros incredible repertoir, to create a tribute that could be comparable to the legacy that Piero Piccioni left.
